About
I am Yulieth Martinez, a Colombian Political Scientist. I am a woman researcher born in a Caribbean city in northern Colombia (Santa Marta) who enjoys the sea more than anything else. I lived for a long time in Brazil during my Master's Degree and most of my PhD, so I consider this country my second home. I am in the last year of my Ph.D. in Political Science at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG). Also, I am a visiting researcher at the Graduate School of the Social and Behavioural Sciences (GSBS) at the University of Konstanz in Germany. I got my Master’s in Political Science from UFMG and my bachelor’s degree in International Business from the University of Magdalena in Colombia.
My current research uses a comparative regionalism perspective and a multi-method design to understand the determinants of emergency policymaking within Regional International Organizations (Regional IOs) during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, I have diverse research interests, which include Regional Integration, International Institutions, Gender, Comparative Studies, and Emergency Politics. I also hugely enjoy learning both qualitative and quantitative methods. This is why I am always trying to learn something new.
